A Daily Practice
Sadhana means discipline. Among yogis, it is used to mean daily practice. In many spiritual paths the importance of having a daily practice is emphasised – it is needed for the continuous cleansing of the subconscious, and also to establish a relationship to your soul.
Sadhana can mean whatever yoga practice you do daily; it is also used in the context of Aquarian Sadhana. Yogi Bhajan recommended to his students that the best practice is group practice, and introduced the idea of a 2 ½ hour sadhana in the early hours of the morning – ideally starting 2 ½ hours before the sunrise. This length of time means that you are dedicating one tenth of each day to God.
Whether you are able to find 2 ½ hours to practice, or just 11 mins to meditate, you will find that a regular, daily practice has a deep and transformative effect on your life. Start with doing what you can, and build your practice with time.

Why So Early ?
The early hours of the morning, between 3am and 7am (depending on the time of sunrise) are considered the best time to meditate and connect to you in you. It is known as the Amrit vela. At this time, the world is quiet, there is little other demand on your time, your mind is more quiet than usual, there is a heightened sensitivity, and the veil between the material and spiritual worlds is at its most transparent. It is also the moment when the angle formed by the Earth with the Sun presents the optimal conditions of receptivity at the level of the subtle fields.
Why Practice in a Group ?
When we practice in a group, our auras merge together to form a group aura. This has the impact that each person in the group balances out each other. The more people there are, the greater the effect.
Throughout Sikh sacred writings, it is said that the ‘company of saints’ will carry us across the world ocean. On this journey through Maya, we cannot make it alone. Saints are not just people who died a hundred years ago, there is a potential saint in each of us, and when is it expressed more than when we wake up early to connect with God in us?
WHAT IS AQUARIAN SADHANA? This is a particular format to prepare us for the transition to the Aquarian Age.
We have been practising this since 21 June, 1992. and even though the Aquarian Age began on 11 November, 2011, we are still in a transitional period (Yogi Bhajan called this the ‘grey period’, which he said would continue for 37 years),
