"Master Your Mind, Elevate Your Spirit"
In 1997 Yogi Bhajan founded Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar, India, with the mission to offer an educational programme with the values of integrity and spirituality, combined with a strong sense of self.
The equilibrium between Miri (material) and Piri (spirituality) is encompassed in the school’s curriculum. The days alternate between spiritual practices such as meditation, yoga, learning classical instruments and chanting, sports and a rigorous academic programme aligned with the UK based Cambridge International Examination (CIE) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
In the 1980s and 1990s, before the existing school, some hybrid schools catered for children from an early age.
In the liberation movement that arose in 2020, (2020 shift) we heard harrowing accounts of the bullying and abuse that took place in the early years of the pilot schools.

Miri Piri Academy became the school it is today in 1997 and has never stopped improving its standards.
The experience of the children since then has been very different from that described in the alumni reports of 1980 and 1990.
We pay tribute to them and sincerely wish them healing and recovery.
